Internet Governance Forum 2018

The Internet Governance Forum is a forum for multi-stakeholder dialogue on public policy issues related to key elements of Internet governance issues, such as the Internet's sustainability, robustness, security, stability and development. The main aim of the IGF is to facilitate inclusive, productive discussions on Internet related public policy issues from a general perspective, while keeping all stakeholders involved.
The thirteenth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum will be hosted by the Government of France at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris from 12 to 14 November 2018.
As part of the Internet Governance Forum 2018, UNESCO will convene several sessions and events, including:
- an Open Forum on "Measuring a free, open, rights based and inclusive Internet" on Tuesday, 13 November (16:10-17:10, Room X)
- a workshop on "Artificial Intelligence for Human Rights and SDGs" on Wednesday, 14 November (11:20-12:50, Room VII)
- a workshop on "Preventing Youth from Online Violent Radicalization" on Tuesday, 13 November (15:00-16:00, Room IV)
- a workshop on "Preventing Youth Violence Through ICTs" on Tuesday, 13 November (11:50-13:20, Room XI)
UNESCO is also organizing a screening of the documentary The Cleaners (Tuesday, 13 November 19:00, Room II) as well as a hackathon on disinformation and hate speech. In parallel, two side events on Artificial Intelligence and Media Development and Internet Governance will also be convened on 15 November 2018.
A UNESCO booth will also be set up in the IGF village.
